The Tour de USA cares about your privacy.  For this reason, we collect and use personal data only as it is necessary for us to deliver information or products from our store to people who visit our website.

As a non-profit charity, we collect only the information needed to process customer payments for items purchased from our store, to provide visitors access to information on our website, or when you register for an event.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

These uses include delivering, improving, updating, and enhancing the Services we provide to you.  We utilize this information to:

  • Improve and optimize the operation and performance of our Services (again, including our websites)
  • Diagnose problems with and identify any security risks, errors, or needed enhancements to the Services
  • Detect and prevent fraud and abuse of our Services and systems
  • Analyze and understand which elements of our cancer survivor support information provide the most value to our website visitors.

Sharing with third parties. 

We never share your personal data that is within our control with third party entities.

Processing credit card payments

We use Stripe (https://stripe.com) to process credit card payments. We collect only your email address. We collect no information related to your credit card. That information remains entirely with Stripe.

Communicating with you

We may contact you directly or as necessary to deliver transactional or service related communications. We may also contact you about technical updates and new features of the Services you have purchased from us. If you give us your consent, we may contact you concerning related services we think you’ll find valuable.

At your request, and assuming you have no financial commitment to us, we will return all of the personal information we have about you, along with a certificate that we have removed this information from all of our electronic and paper records, with the exception of any information required to be retained under Section 802 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. We also will tell you what information we are required to retain by Sarbanes-Oxley.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.
