Here are the Details

For 2017, we are delighted to present a unique event for car and wine enthusiasts. The 2017 Paso Robles Wine Rally will be a 2 1/2 day adventure (27-29 October) through the beautiful central California coastal region of Paso Robles and San Luis Obispo County on scenic byways that will let you enjoy your car, and wine tastings at some of California’s best up and coming wineries.

Some of California’s best wines are made in the Paso Robles region. Paso Robles was named Wine Enthusiast Magazine’s 2013 Wine region of the Year and Sunset Magazine named it the Best Wine Region in the West in 2016.

The Beginning

We’ll begin the weekend at 1:15 pm on Friday at Malibu Yogurt and Ice Cream (this will be an authorized “bad (but good!) food” weekend) and drive to the historic Cold Spring Tavern on the old Stagecoach Road, and then on Paso Robles via Highways 154 and 101, with a short scenic stop at Avila Beach if time permits.

The Hotel

You will stay Friday and Saturday evening at the highly rated Oaks Hotel in Paso Robles. All rooms have king size beds, but twin double beds are available.

Meals

Friday and Saturday evening dinners will be very special. Friday evening will be a wine-paired dinner at Thomas Hill Organics, which specializes in local farm-to-table produce and Saturday evening will be just as fun and tasty. On Saturday, you’ll be dining at Villa Creek Restaurant and Bar. . .

You will enjoy a fantastic catered picnic lunch on Saturday and lunch on Sunday is pizza freshly baked in an outdoor oven at Dubost Ranch, our final winery.

The Wineries

You will be visiting five carefully-curated vineyards – four on Saturday and one Sunday morning following our olive oil tasting at Pasoliva. Saturday’s tastings will be chauffeured by 101 Wine Tours, which has an unblemished 5 star Yelp rating.

Sunday

Sunday Lunch ends the formal part of our two-day Paso Robles adventure. If you are returning to Los Angeles, you might join the Cancer Journeys team in our stop at Buttonwillow Raceway for a tour of the facility and to watch some NASA racing on one of America’s premier tracks. [Robert is a bit of a gearhead].

This is an all-inclusive trip: gourmet meals, lodging, chauffeured Saturday tour to curated wine tastings, daily full breakfast at the Oaks Hotel; all included in your package.

Finally, each participant receives a copy of The New Wine Country Cookbook: Recipes from California’s Central Coast by award winning author of twenty-five cookbooks, Brigit Binns, along with a special, commemorative wine glass.

The donation to participate in this event is $970.00 per couple, double occupancy; $770.00 for a single.

Each participant will receive a donation letter from the Cancer Journeys Foundation for $200 to file with his or her tax return.

Final Payment is Due by October 8, 2017

This will be a fun trip with no more than 10 people total. We need to finalize our hotel reservations with the Oaks Hotel by October 9, so we need your paid commitment by October 8th.
